This popular hiking trail takes you past the historic Makapu’u Point Light, where the trail takes its name. This incredible lighthouse has the largest lens of any lighthouse in the United States and is over 100 years old.

Along the way, be sure to get pictures of Makapu’u Point Light. This historic lighthouse is more than 100 years old and has the largest lens of any lighthouse in the United States. You’ll know it for its distinctive red lantern and white body. Continue down the hiking trail and come across the Halona Blowhole. This natural wonder is a rock formation where waves that crash into the coast are sprayed upwards by as much as 20 feet. Our shuttle to take you to this incredible path is available every day except for Christmas and New Year’s Day, and allows you to skip the infamous terrible parking around Makapu’u so you can get right into enjoying some time in the great outdoors of Hawaii.
